Recently Whilst working in Bramhall I had purchased a Graco HVLP 4900 for fine finish spraying. I had initially hired a unit to try it out and to see how it performed.
After using the unit in Dulux Ecosure and getting good results on some spindles in Alderley Edge. I decided to take the plunge and purchase one for myself. Arcylic paints are what I intend to use the unit for most of the time. If you intend on using the unit with acrylics your best off with needles 4, 5 and 6. The higher the number the more paint is released. The size of needle also is dictated by the choice of paint. Some water based paints are thicker than others
The unit comes into its own really on spindles but as you can see from the picture below it can paint bigger areas like internal doors, door casings, architraves and skirting boards without any issues. Although slower than an airless it is possible to do.
The doors, casings, architraves and skirtings on this project was finished in Dulux Diamond Satinwood and its left a lovely smooth finish.
I must say that I am impressed so far with my investment as too are my customers I am happy to say.
